Video is used extensively as it helps show the pupil what he or she is doing right - or wrong. After letting the pupil swing freely for a short while, teacher and pupil look at the result on screen, comparing their positions at various stages of the swing with photographs of other top professionals who have excellent swing techniques, such as Tiger Woods or Ernie Els.

The pupil is then moulded into position at the beginning of the swing and manouvered through the entire sequence, slowly and deliberately, with careful explaination at every aspect and how one incorrect position will inevitably lead to another incorrect position - unless you can create enough compensating movements to get the club face back to square at impact.

This is a concept the pupil can clearly understand because he can see what is happening throughout the swing.

As the pupil is manouvered through the swing, by moulding the arms and creating the turn, they are also videoed throughout this sequence. They cna then watch the TV and see exactly what positions they need to be in at every stage.

Video is vital to this method of teaching and although it may sound as though a mechanical swing is being created, it is anything but.

Nobody wants to rebuild a swing from scratch, at any level. the pupil is taught to use the good parts of their swing and building on that, by refining and tuning it.
